TTT: 2014 Book Debuts

It's time to link up with the Broke and the Bookish again!

This week's topic is about debut books that we're excited about this year. I don't read a whole lot of debut authors for some reason - I always seem to get into things a little late when there are three or four books already published in a series or when an author has a handful of books under their belt. I think it's partly because I get a lot of my books from the library, and they tend to not to buy too many books by unknown authors.

Still, I had a little mosey through Goodreads this morning looking at some debut books, and while I couldn't find a full list of ten that I'm interested in (mostly because no one seems to make lists of debut authors for anything other than YA), I did come up with six that I'll be doing my best to check out this year (all covers taken from Goodreads):

1. Stolen Songbird by Danielle L. Jensen.

2. Side Effects May Vary by Julie Murphy.

3. Landry Park by Bethany Hagen.

4. Half Bad by Sally Green.

5. Between by Megan Whitmer.

6. Library Jumpers by Brenda Drake.

Are there any debuts this year that you'd recommend I add to my list?

  1. Half bad is also on my list! I feel like make pov is quite rare in YA books so love to pick one up when I can!

  2. I've been wanting to read Half-Bad for a while now, but I picked up Between and Library Jumpers from this list! :)

  3. FYI I got an advance copy of Half-Bad, and I made it two chapters in before giving up. It was trying way to hard.

  4. Great list! I'm so excited for so many of these. Side Effects May Vary is one I am really, really excited to finally get to read, it looks amazing! There seems to be so many good books coming out in 2014, I'm not sure where I'll find the time to read them all. I hope you get to all of your picks :) My TTT.
