Things I Like Thursday, Volume 2

Seen random stuff on the internet that you find hilarious or just want to share? Head over to Gina's to link up!

Text from Dog is quite possibly one of the funniest things I've ever come across on the internet. Basically, the idea is that some guy's dog texts him while he's at work/out/upstairs.

THIS VIDEO. Kat sent me this over the weekend with a note that said "She's like the Rebecca Black of middle-aged ladies." I suspect that's being cruel to Rebecca Black. I mean, at least everyone can understand the appeal of Friday. Not everyone can understand what on earth this woman is wibbling about. I honestly assumed it was going to be a song about eating food off the floor which I would never ever do except that sometimes I do. But only when it's candy.

This list by Forbes of the fifteen richest fictional characters. Number one is Smaug. AWESOME.

You guys. THE FUG GIRLS TWEETED ME.
And yes, I made a 70th birthday cake for the brother of a nun and got paid for it. It was all very random!!

What exciting nonsense have you found on the internet this week? Link up here!

  1. Jigga wha?!

    OMG-OMG-OMG!!!
I bow down before thee, o great one!

I have been reading the Fug Girls for, what, six years now? I love them like a fat kid loves cake. But I used to read them even before they created GFY, back when they recapped shows for Television Without Pity (TWoP).

I started reading TWoP as a 15-year-old in 2000 when we moved up to the Gold Coast; back then it was Mighty Big TV and OMG THE LAUGHS...I had never read that style of writing before and I'd like to think it shaped my own. I'd religiously follow the Dawson's Creek recaps from Sars and Wing Chun (the co-founders), and that same year started reading Sars' "Tomato Nation" blog (which I read to this day).

Many other fantastic writers have come out of TWoP, including AB Chao, Pamela Ribon, Linda Holmes...etc etc.

Also, I chortled at the sms exchanges with Dog. LOVE.

    1. I was literally flailing around with excitement when I checked my mentions and there was one from them! I'm basically camping by my mailbox waiting for their book, Spoiled, to arrive.

    2. Ooh, been meaning to get my paws on their book and it always slips my mind to...d'oh! In fact, I recently ordered from Amazon (this: http://dooce.com/daily-style/2011/11/03/farm-anatomy) plus Friday Night Lights seasons 4 and 5, but didn't remember Spoiled.

I shall rectify this next time I'm Amazoning.

But yes, excitement-induced arm flailing is pretty much the only way to react to the Fug Girls tweeting back. :D

    1. RIGHT???? I'm so glad I have friends who understand the monumental significance of such a thing! Now if only all the OTHER celebrities/famous bloggers I follow would do likewise all would be right with the world!! ;)

  3. I watched that video start to finish, and I still don't know what it was about!!! And the bit where she's walking along in pink pants and her shirt blows up and you can can see her camel-toe, well that's burnt into my retinas now. I just don't know how I'm going to bounce back from this. More brownies, maybe...

    1. I can honestly say I didn't pay any attention to her groin. But to each their own ;) As I said to Gina last week, I'm more perplexed as to how she found blokes willing to participate in that abomination!!
