101 in 1001

If you spend any time in the blogosphere, you'll no doubt have seen these around. I've been thinking for a while now that I should start a list, as it's always good to have things to work towards!

If you DON'T spend much time in the blogosphere, here's the deal:

The Challenge:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on your part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple challenges such as New Year's resolutions or a 'Bucket List'. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips, study semesters, or outdoor activities.

  2. Fun list! I do actually have a list of my own, however it's not blogged about on my blog. It ends July next year, and I still have quite a bit I need to accomplish! Thanks for the reminder! Good luck!

  5. Haha it kinda feels like cheating when some of the things on your list are already planned to happen :)

  6. They all sound great! Makes me re-inspired to do more on my somewhat less ambitious 30 before 30 list hehe.

Have you been to Sydney? You could visit me, and we could go to 2 movies and have high tea? That would cross a few off your list hahaha :P

  8. I have been to Sydney, but I haven't been to the Blue Mountains, so I was considering making that my new place. Which would mean stopping off in Sydney on the way. And potential movies and high tea fun!!

And the PhD is less about whether or not I want to do it and more about whether I can AFFORD to do it...

  9. YAY!! Hehe.

Well at least in Aus PhDs are free. And you might be able to get an APA scholarship (or find a cashed up supervisor to give you a scholarship) and you can also tutor for $$ ?

  10. After seeing the conversation between you and Alice on FB, I started writing my own list last night. I'm up to number 64 and I'm stumped. Again! This happened to me last time I tried to write the damned list! But I'm sure I'll get there, and then I'll blog about it... because #1 is "finish writing this list" and #2 is "blog about it". Cheating, I know, but when you're stumped at #64 then you've got bigger problems than minor technicalities such as those!!!

Leave me a comment and I'll love you forever (except for spambots...)
