Whoops. I've been slacking off on the book front of late. Too many other things going on combined with the last few topics requiring a little more brain power than I have to spare at the moment! And I'll no doubt continue to slack off on the books, given the challenge recipes I have just around the corner. Oh well...
Day 24 - A book you wish more people would've read
For some reason, I found this topic surprisingly difficult. I read a lot of not particularly popular books, including a crap-ton on medical history, so you'd think it would be easy to come up with something. But I kind of like that no one else had read half the stuff I read. Plus, I wouldn't really submit people to some of the medical history books. I can't imagine many people are interested in reading about Ignaz Semmelweis' discovery of the causes of childbed fever in 1847 or the mapping of a cholera outbreak in 1854...
But then I remembered this, and how I went through a phase of buying copies for everyone's birthday because they HAD to read it:
It's hilarious, despite the whole murder side of things, and I can definitely relate to the main character, Meg. It's a series that they never seem to stock in stores here, so I'm constantly grateful for internet shopping when it comes to these! Anyway, it's definitely a book that you should check out. (Well...unless you hate weddings. If that's the case, it's probably not the book for you...)
