Unless you've been living under a rock of late, you'll know that a third of Queensland is currently underwater. Three-quarters of the state - which is more than double the size of Texas - has been declared a disaster zone. The situation is completely devastating - to date, nine people have died, and nearly sixty are missing. The death toll is likely to rise much higher once the flood waters recede and the authorities can actually get in to search the houses.
Parts of Brisbane are being evacuated, and Toowoomba was inundated yesterday by what's been described as an inland tsunami.
